DAY 52. - Changes

" ...for me this represents a few things: the butterfly marks a time of personal transformation and growth, a reminder that life is forever changing and the acceptance that should come with that fact. The cherry blossom ties in with that idea representing the beauty and fragility of life and its transient nature " ~ Fiona

DAY 51. - Sassy

" She's my green eyed, sassy, voluptuous, double D vixen. She symbolises the adventurous, crazy, don't-think-about-it-just-do-it me. My intentions were SheDevil on the right shoulder, Angel on the left. Let's face it, Angel will never get there " ~ Edith B.

DAY 47. - Raukura

" I belong to Te Atiawa from Taranaki. This tattoo symbolises Te Raukura. This is an important symbol to all tribes who affiliate with Taranaki, it is shown in the form of three white feathers. Te Raukura represents spiritual, physical and communal harmony and unity. It is an acknowledgment of a higher spiritual power, a symbol of faith, hope and compassion for all mankind " ~ Emma H.

DAY 45. - Electric Blue

" I had this tattoo because my eldest sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I needed to show her that I could do something that I would never usually do to prove my love. I wanted to have a symbol that would be meaningful of her life and I could treasure for the rest of mine. When I was little she took me ice skating and always would have electric blue eye make up. This is what this tattoo represents, those special times and memories " ~ Rita

DAY 44. - Lucky13

" ...there's 13, thirteen's my number... I was born on the 13th. Last year it was a Friday but nothing bad happened. And I have 13 piercings... but you probably didn't need to know that " ~ Kim C.

DAY 43. - Ta Moko

" Part of my Ta Moko was done traditionally using an “uhi” – to honour an amazing friend I lost to cancer. It had to be on my right side – in taha Maori, right is feminine – this, to honour my mother. There are elements of my sexuality – wahine moe wahine… takatāpui! The two female figure heads – my spirituality… Hine Titama (the dawn maiden – to guide through life) & Hine-nui-te-po (the guardian to our dead souls – to guide through death). The various manaia – a symbol of protection – each of these represent my tupuna (grandparents), mātua (parents), teina (sister) & tungane (brother). Overall, the foundations of ME! " ~ Kati

DAY 42. - Aotearoa

" I was having a few beers with a mate one New Years Eve. A friend of his showed up and we were talking. I said I liked his tatts and he asked if I had any. I didn't but said I'd always wanted one. Turns out he was a tattooist with a shop just down the road. He offered to do one right then.. I think I actually sculled my pint in about 2 seconds flat then squeaked out a meek 'fucking cool!' I'm glad I did it and it only cost me a hundred bucks " ~ Mark
